A bright pink Porsche is already going to attract attention. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, one Southwest Florida driver attracted even more attention when deputies allegedly caught the sports car traveling more than double the posted speed limit.
The sheriff’s office says deputies were conducting traffic enforcement on Three Oaks Parkway in Fort Myers on Saturday afternoon when they spotted a Porsche traveling 96 mph in a 45 mph zone. The driver, identified as 40-year-old Jennifer Leigh Delisi, was arrested at the scene, and the vehicle was towed.
Lee County deputies highlighted the unusual vehicle in a social media post, writing, “A Pink Porsche Is Hard To Miss… Especially When Going 96 MPH.”
While the color alone makes the car memorable, another detail visible in bodycam footage may have made it even easier to identify. The Porsche displayed the Instagram handle “@heyitsmejennyd” on the rear side window.
Instagram Handle Displayed on Porsche
The handle shown on the vehicle led to a public Instagram profile that, at the time it was viewed, featured numerous photos and videos of what appeared to be the same distinctive Ruby Star Porsche 911 Carrera S seen in the sheriff’s office footage. The account also contained content featuring a BMW M4 and other automotive-themed posts.
Since the arrest began attracting attention online, the Instagram account appears to have been switched to private.
While there is no public confirmation linking the account to the driver beyond the handle displayed on the vehicle, the matching Porsche made the connection noteworthy.
As fellow car enthusiasts, we get it. Nobody buys a Porsche 911 because they plan to spend every drive puttering around at the speed limit. Part of the appeal is the performance, the sound, and occasionally enjoying what the car was built to do. We also understand the appeal of automotive social media and sharing that passion with other enthusiasts.
However, public roads aren’t race tracks, and they’re not production studios. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: if you want to explore the limits of a performance car, take it to a track day, autocross event, drag strip, or another controlled environment. If you’re creating automotive content, save the high-speed driving shots for closed courses and permitted locations.
It also highlights another reality of modern car culture. A brightly colored Porsche already stands out in a crowd. Adding a social media handle to the side of it makes the car even more recognizable. In this case, we were able to trace the handle displayed on the Porsche to an Instagram account featuring what appeared to be the same distinctive vehicle before the account was switched to private.
Booking Records Show Traffic-Related Charge
According to Lee County Jail records, Delisi was booked on Aug. 2 and released later the same afternoon.
The booking record lists the charge as “Operate Vehicle Exceed Speed Limit 50+ MPH,” a moving traffic violation. Records show she posted a $150 cash bond and was released approximately two hours after being booked.
Court records show the case is scheduled to be heard in Lee County Court on Aug. 17.
Florida law has recently increased penalties for extreme speeding offenses, and law enforcement agencies across the state have publicly emphasized enforcement efforts targeting drivers accused of traveling at excessively high speeds.
Whether the pink Porsche becomes more recognizable because of the sheriff’s office post remains to be seen. What is clear is that a brightly colored sports car with a social media handle on the window is difficult to overlook — especially when deputies say it’s traveling 51 mph over the speed limit.
