Need something uplifting to get you through your day? Check out a dog riding around on a hoverboard. There’s a hilarious video of what appears to be a dog cruising through an RV park on a hoverboard. The canine can be seen balancing on the board with all four paws as it rolls down a wet roadway. The gray-and-white dog stands on a purple self-balancing board and glides forward along the pavement like an absolute pro. And weirdly enough, it looks like it’s done it before.
The dog starts slowly through the parking area, then picks up confidence and continues down the road, passing a golf cart and several other parked vehicles. A person in the golf cart in the video reaches toward the dog as it rolls by, but the dog keeps going, tail up, like it’s taking a casual lap of the neighborhood. Clearly it knows its way around, so this might be a regular thing for the pup.
What sets the clip apart is that the dog appears to actually know how to use the board. It shifts its weight, holds its balance, and turns through the campground without jumping off or tipping over, all on pavement that looks wet from rain. It does not stumble or get awkwardly placed on the board; it rides like it has done this before.
But we’ve still got questions, like how did the dog learn the trick? How long it has been riding? It has the hoverboard under full control the whole time, too. So obviously it’s much more talented than most of us, and it might think about trying to drive a real vehicle next. Just a suggestion.

This dog is turning heads because it looks like a total natural. Honestly, a hoverboard is hard enough for plenty of people, especially on damp pavement, and here a dog is moving through an RV park like the board is simply its normal way of getting around. It’s insanely confident for a four-legged furry friend.
Also, rather than a staged trick in an empty room, the dog is cruising around outside, past real campers, golf carts, driveways, and tree-lined roads, which turns a single trick into a full neighborhood cruise. The wet pavement makes the trick seem even harder. And here we are, watching Rover zoom around like it was born to ride.
Can Dogs Really Learn to Ride a Hoverboard?
Dogs riding skateboards, scooters, and balance boards are more than a fluke. When the animals can do it, they were almost certainly trained with hours of treats, trial and error, and repetition. Trainers typically start a dog on a stationary board, rewarding it for placing paws on the surface, then for standing on it, then for small movements, until the motion feels good and familiar. That’s likely what happened in this situation.
Some dogs take to wheeled boards naturally because of their coordination and low center of gravity, while others never grow comfortable with it. If you want the dog to be safe and happy, you should make sure you do it only if the dog seems to enjoy itself while learning.
