As usual, we’ve published some pretty interesting stories in the month of July, especially concerning road rage incidents.
Road rage is one of those things that never seems to go away. Every month, there are new videos of drivers losing their tempers over minor disagreements, turning routine commutes into dangerous situations that put everyone else on the road at risk.
Some incidents involve shouting matches or rude gestures, while others escalate into crashes, police pursuits, or arrests. Whether it’s brake-checking a semi-truck, chasing another driver in reverse, or confronting someone in the middle of traffic, these stories serve as reminders of how quickly emotions behind the wheel can spiral out of control.
In July, we covered plenty of road rage incidents that ranged from unbelievable to downright reckless. To give our readers a look back, I’ve rounded up five of the wildest cases we reported on throughout the month.
Each of the following articles was published in July, though the incidents themselves didn’t all happen during the same month. Under each headline is a summary, along with a link to the full story if you’d like to dive deeper.
Florida Woman Says She Was “Rage-Baited” by Pedestrians Before Speeding Into Tree
A Florida woman told deputies she became “rage-baited” by pedestrians while driving through a residential neighborhood, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. I have to admit, that’s a new one. Even if someone is frustrating you on the road, I’d think that your life is worth more than an argument.
Witnesses told deputies the 25-year-old sped through the neighborhood, swerved, ran a stop sign, and ultimately crashed into a tree. The sheriff’s office didn’t explain exactly what the pedestrians were doing beyond walking near the roadway, which leaves some unanswered questions, but drivers are still responsible for keeping their emotions in check regardless of what’s happening around them.
The crash didn’t injure anyone, but deputies later found marijuana inside the vehicle, leading to additional charges. In the end, what started as a moment of frustration allegedly snowballed into a wreck, criminal charges, and a reminder that a few seconds of losing your temper behind the wheel can have consequences that last much longer than the incident itself.
Driver Brake-Checks a Semi-Truck in a Tunnel in Dangerous Road Rage Act
@derek_feather It’s long but then ending is the good part and huge shoutout to @Amazon for the same day delivery 🫡 maybe just a little less agressive next time #peterbilt #largecar #amazon #prime ♬ original sound – JEEJ
A viral TikTok video shows a driver cutting off a semi-truck inside a tunnel before slamming on the brakes, forcing the much larger vehicle into what appears to be a near collision. Honestly, brake-checking any vehicle is a bad idea, but doing it to an 80,000-pound semi is a level of confidence I don’t think I’ll ever understand.
The video appears to show the driver bringing both vehicles to a stop before getting out to confront the truck driver, seemingly acting as though the semi was the problem. Thankfully, we live in the era of dashcams, because without the footage, this could have become one driver’s word against another despite the size difference between the vehicles.
Perhaps the funniest twist comes when the driver steps out wearing an Amazon vest, something even the video’s creator couldn’t resist joking about in the caption. The comments overwhelmingly sided with the truck driver, with many calling for harsher penalties for brake-checking commercial vehicles, while others simply wondered what possessed someone to intentionally pick a fight with a semi-truck in the first place.
Driver Tailgates Cyclist in Bike Lane, Then Realizes He’s Been Filmed

A viral TikTok video captures a driver using a bike lane to bypass traffic before tailgating a cyclist who was legally riding in it. If your shortcut requires other people to move out of the way for your car, it’s probably a sign that you picked the wrong lane.
The cyclist recorded the entire encounter as the driver followed dangerously close behind before confronting him once the bike lane ended. Things only escalated after the driver realized he was being filmed, and while the video doesn’t clearly show every moment of the physical confrontation, it becomes obvious why the cyclist started asking nearby bystanders to record for his own protection.
The comments overwhelmingly sided with the cyclist, with many expressing disbelief that the driver appeared to think he had the right to use the bike lane in the first place. Others were almost as frustrated with the bystanders for not stepping in, while one commenter joked that “the evidence just kept getting more evidencey” as the driver continued making the situation worse for himself.
Man Drives in Reverse for Over a Mile During a Road Rage Chase To Evade Police
If someone loses their temper behind the wheel, the safest thing you can do is avoid making it your problem. A recent road rage case out of Beaverton, Oregon, is a good reminder that what starts as a minor traffic dispute can spiral into criminal charges surprisingly quickly.
According to police, a 29-year-old man allegedly chased another driver through traffic, entered oncoming lanes, intentionally cut the vehicle off, and even drove in reverse for more than a mile before the victims fled to the Beaverton Police Department. That’s honestly one of those details that’s hard to wrap your head around—driving in reverse for that long isn’t just reckless, it’s incredibly dangerous for everyone else on the road.
The suspect was arrested on charges of reckless driving and menacing after officers reportedly found an airsoft handgun in his jacket. Regardless of what sparked the initial confrontation, the couple made what was probably the smartest decision of the entire incident by driving straight to the police station instead of trying to argue or outrun the other driver, and it’s hard to imagine the situation ending nearly as safely if they hadn’t.
Cybertruck Driver Snaps After Road Rage Turns Into Mirror-Smashing Revenge

Road rage rarely ends with anyone feeling like they “won,” and a viral TikTok video is a pretty good example of why. What starts with one driver grabbing a phone out of a Cybertruck quickly escalates into a broken side mirror, a retaliatory bump with a vehicle, and two people who probably left the scene angrier than when they arrived.
The footage doesn’t show what sparked the confrontation, so it’s impossible to know who started it or why tempers flared in the first place. Still, once you’re throwing someone else’s property onto the road and smashing mirrors in traffic, it’s safe to say the original disagreement has taken a back seat to making bad decisions.
Commenters overwhelmingly blamed the Cybertruck driver, with many admitting they didn’t even need to know what happened beforehand to assume fault. Personally, I’d say neither driver comes out looking particularly good here, and the video serves as yet another reminder that escalating a road rage incident almost never makes the situation better — it just gives the internet something new to argue about.
