A man in Boston, Massachusetts, was riding an electric scooter on a sidewalk when, all of a sudden, he was cut off by a car driven by a park ranger. In what appears to be a power trip, the ranger told him and his friend to leave the area.
The incident was caught on camera by TikTok user ckautohouse (CK). Based in New York, he describes himself as an auto dealer and an entrepreneur who has since shared automobile content following the aforementioned incident.
Described as his “Boston Side Quest,” CK was riding his electric scooter alongside a friend. They were right next to an unidentified lake and on a sidewalk.
Right from the get-go, CK became startled. Right next to him, an SUV drove across the grass and onto the sidewalk right in front of him, effectively cutting him off in a potentially dangerous maneuver.

The driver was a Boston park ranger who immediately exited the car and approached CK. The scooterist, meanwhile, told him that he hadn’t seen him and that he wasn’t running from him.
The park ranger, however, wasn’t too fond of CK and his friend, and most certainly of their scooters. He said, “What the [expletive] do you think you’re doing?”
Not thinking they were doing anything wrong, CK said that they were just following an orange go-kart’s trail. The park ranger didn’t believe them for a second, telling them that he had observed them stop and look at the signs that read “No bikes.”
Confiscation Threat
CK did say they had checked the signs, but figured since no one was in the area, they could ride their scooters on the sidewalk. He then told the park ranger he wasn’t from Boston, but from Long Island.
After asking where they got the scooters, the park ranger appeared to threaten them to confiscate them. CK and his friend stood in silence as the ranger went on.
“Would suck if we took them away from you, right?” he said. “And you had to pay for them. Suck huge. ‘Cause that’s what happens. We get the state police, we take them.”
Side Quest Completed
The park ranger asked them if they had licenses. After answering affirmatively, he warned them that they could be penalized with a 30-day suspension if tickets were issued.
Once again, the park ranger told them they were lying, telling them they were “full of [expletive].” Then, he asked them both to leave immediately, to ride slowly, and for them to stay on the street.
He then told them that he didn’t blame them for “trying to get away with something,” adding that they weren’t in New York. CK said, “I grew up running from park rangers,” and ended up fistbumping the ranger.
Viewers didn’t take the interaction as well as CK did, calling the maneuver completely uncalled for and dangerous. One viewer went as far as to say, “That’s attempted vehicular manslaughter.”

Scooters on the sidewalks illegally is a huge problem in Boston. These kids, and delivery drivers, all know it’s against the law to be on the sidewalk. Nothing is done until someone gets hurt. We need to start cracking down and fining them… before they hit another pedestrian.
