Emergency services arrived at the report of a car that had crashed into the front of a house in Gretna, Pittsylvania County, Virginia, only to find they had a much more serious situation on their hands than initially thought. The report from the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office states that they had responded to a call out for a motor vehicle crash in the 12000 block of East Gretna Road around 12:50 p.m. on Saturday.
Upon arrival, a vehicle was found to have crashed through the front of the building, ending up partially buried inside. At present, as reported by WSLS, due to the ongoing investigation, the status of the driver and any potential passengers’ presence or well-being hasn’t been released.
Emergency services then entered the building, looking for any potential victims of the incident, but instead stumbled across what appeared to be a double homicide. Inside the home were two bodies, but it didn’t appear that it had been the sudden entrance of a car into their living room that had killed them
The two residents appeared to have been shot, according to the initial report. The 34-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were pronounced dead on arrival.
Ongoing Investigation
At present, due to the ongoing investigation, the identities of the two dead residents of the home have been withheld, and there is no information as to whether the driver of the car was still on site or if they had a passenger. They reported that the dead man and woman appeared to have been shot, but no further conclusions have been officially drawn.
The pair has been taken to the Roanoke Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to undergo an autopsy to determine the actual cause of death. This will, hopefully, assist in uncovering the circumstances that resulted in a car being driven into the front of their home and a suspected double homicide from gunshot wounds.
The Pittsylvania County law enforcement asks anyone with information to come forward.

In this case, it wasn’t the residents of the San Tan Valley that were shot. Instead, the driver of the vehicle was murdered by the residents who opened fire on his car.
