A man in Gwinnett County, Georgia, is facing mulitple charges after he allegedly prevented a screaming woman from exiting his vehicle. After she eventually broke free, he then attempted to flee on foot and then proceeded to fight a responding officer over his taser, police said.
According to a post made by the Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD), the incident occurred on April 7, 2026. At the time, an officer patrolling the area noticed some strange movements inside a vehicle traveling in an unspecified location.
Officer L. Shorr believed that those movements pertained to an individual who was impaired. Alternatively, it also appeared as if there was an altercation taking place, which, according to the GCPD, was the case.
While following the vehicle in question, the officer quickly witnessed that things started to escalate. As seen in the clip attached below, as the black sedan reached a cul-de-sac, the front passenger’s door opened.
Attempted Escape
As shown in the patrol unit’s dashcam, the passenger, a woman, is shown opening her door while screaming for her. The black sedan is seen slowing down right before and after.
Allegedly, the man behind the wheel, later identified as Edward Briones Revolorio, was trying to prevent her from exiting the car by pulling her back in. However, as he reached a corner, the woman could be seen falling to the ground.
Revolorio then attempted to escape, as shown in the dashcam footage. Officer Shorr, however, prevented this and rammed his patrol car against the man’s vehicle, stopping it on its tracks.
Foot Pursuit
Immediately after the collision, however, Revolorio can be seen exiting his vehicle through the front passenger’s seat. Officer Shorr followed his lead, triggering a foot pursuit.
The suspect fled into a wooded area, and at one point, the GCPD officer attempted to make use of his taser. However, Revolorio managed to avoid the probes by running into a thick brush.
Officer Shorr eventually caught up to Revolorio, and a physical struggle followed. To “gain compliance,” the law enforcement agent tried to make use of his taser’s close-quarter drive-stunning capabilities. He was unable to do so.
Taser Scuffle, Arrest
According to the GCPD, Revolorio grabbed the device before the officer had the chance to use it against him. A fight broke out between the two men, during which Revolorio refused to calm down, as shown in Officer Shorr’s bodycam footage.
“You’re under arrest!” the officer told him. The man repeatedly asked, “Why?” He also told the officer to let him go, to which the agent responded with, “No.”
To prevent Revolorio from getting control of his taser, the officer removed the device’s batteries and threw it on the ground nearby. The fight continued, but the officer managed to call for backup.
Officers eventually responded to the location and took Revolorio into custody. He is now facing 11 different charges in connection with the incident. Shockingly, he already had nine active warrants for his arrest at the time.
As per The Georgia Gazette, Edward Briones Revolorio is charged with reckless conduct, removal or attempted removal of a weapon from a public official, reckless driving, second-degree criminal damage to property, aggravated stalking, and terroristic threats and acts, among others.
