I’m on the internet a lot, and this is the very first time I have ever heard of anyone trying to build a racing mower. It goes to show how much I know, considering that it’s one of the more beloved hobbies by racing and vehicle fans alike.
In one video that’s gone viral on TikTok, user Westen Fan was “pulled over” by a police officer while trying to get his lawnmower home. Apparently, he had only just purchased the rideable lawnmowers with a friend from Lowe’s with the intention of modifying it for racing.
What’s even funnier is that the police officer who stopped him was more interested than anything. He shook his hand and told Westen that his children were big fans of his online content.
While this conversation was going on, a driver on a street nearby also recognized Westen, yelling his name out for everyone to hear. It was a wholesome moment that got people talking about just how weird and nice people in the world can really be.
A Racing Mower?

Instead of immediately questioning Westen, the officer answers his question, “Are we doing anything wrong?” with, “Well, you can’t be having these out on the road there, bub.” Westen took this answer in stride and immediately shot back with, “Well, you guys ran out of sidewalk.”
According to Westen, the idea behind purchasing the mowers was to make them race. However, when he purchased them, the two didn’t have anywhere to put them for transportation, so they simply drove them home.
When asked about that, he responded with, “Well, we bought these randomly at Lowe’s because we thought we were going to build racing mowers, and we haven’t had them race yet. They aren’t very fast, they’re very slow.”
Why Can’t He Drive a Racing Mower on the Street?
According to the officer on the scene, Officer Brown definitely didn’t seem as though he wanted to give the guys a hard time. More than anything, it seemed as though he wanted to ensure that they got home safe and didn’t encounter other law enforcement on the way.
He said that the mowers can’t be on the road because “You don’t have tags and you don’t have turn signals.” Honestly, it would probably take an incredibly long time to try and drive a lawnmower anywhere on the road.
It was at this time that the random passerby screamed Westen’s name from his car on the street. The officer then had a laugh, remarking that everyone in the town really liked him, including his very own child.
Reactions to Mower on the Street
Commenters also found this hilarious, especially considering that the video has about 743,000 likes. One of the top comments remarks on the best lines from the entire video, reading, “My two favorite parts of the video are the cop saying “what’s up Weston” and then “well you guys ran out of sidewalk””.
Others were more focused on just how kind the officer really was, with another person writing, “Guys, chilllllll…. Cops around there are actually pretty chill especially with him.” Similarly, another person wrote, “at this point, Weston is just a local celebrity.”
Since that video was posted, Westen has continued posting about the mowers and the various modifications that he plans to add.
