A man in York County, Pennsylvania, is facing multiple charges after he was allegedly caught driving under the influence. He is accused of being behind the wheel with a cooler full of open alcoholic energy drinks and of damaging a patrol car.
As reported by FOX 43, citing police documents, the incident occurred on Saturday, June 6. At around 9:50 p.m., a local police officer in West Manheim Township noticed a vehicle struggling to maintain its lane after crossing a fog line.
The officer in question turned on his emergency lights and siren. However, the driver, then identified as 25-year-old Kasey Allen Doll, didn’t immediately stop.
Eventually, the vehicle pulled over near Baltimore Pike and Brunswick Drive. As per a complaint, the vehicle struck a curb while doing so.
An Alleged DUI Driver
The officer began approaching the Doll’s vehicle. However, he noticed some “furtive movement” on Doll’s behalf directed at his vehicle’s backseat.
After Doll was ordered to exit, and as he stood on the street, the officer allegedly noted an alcohol odor. When questioned, the 25-year-old said he had just been to a wedding and was heading home.
Things escalated moving forward, as Doll allegedly refused to cooperate when asked to complete field sobriety tests. He is accused of striking an officer and kicking another two while being placed in handcuffs.
A Cooler, Found
As a result of the physical altercation, police said one of the officers sustained a lip laceration. Meanwhile, the other two were observed with bruises and abrasions.
During a search, police officers allegedly found three Monster Unleashed cans in his pockets. This is an alcoholic energy drink, which has an alcohol by volume of 6%.
Additionally, police said they found more open cans of the beverage under the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Allegedly, they also found a cooler filled with open cans and a whiskey bottle that had been partially consumed.
A Patrol Car, Damaged
As Doll was being evaluated in an ambulance, he allegedly freed himself and continued resisting arrest. He was eventually transported to UPMC Hanover for further evaluation.
Doll was released and, while being transferred to York County Prison, he urinated in the patrol car’s backseat, police said. Additionally, he is accused of damaging the unit’s interior ceiling.
Kasey Allen Doll is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, driving under the influence, institutional vandalism, and multiple traffic violations. Each aggravated assault count could end up with him spending up to 20 years in prison, as per state law.
No mugshot was provided by local authorities.
