A 15-year-old boy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was arrested after allegedly climbing and jumping on a patrol car. As per the police, the incident occurred at a meetup in a local park, where someone was accused of bringing a firearm.
As reported by WISN 12 News, the incident occurred on Sunday, May 31. After receiving a report of someone with a weapon, officers with the Milwaukee Police Department responded to Carmen Playfield, a park located near 73rd Street and Carmen Avenue.
Upon arrival, police officers found a commotion in the middle of a meetup. Some of the individuals present were arguing and making threats, the report said.
With the police presence in the area, things continued to escalate. Eventually, the 15-year-old mentioned above allegedly jumped on top of a responding patrol car.
Incident Footage Shared, Teen Arrested
WISN shared a video recorded by a neighbor. It showed the 15-year-old dancing on top of the car hood, later climbing on top of the roof, and jumping shortly after.
The teenager is then shown running away from the scene. Moments later, an unmarked police vehicle is shown switching on its emergency lights and pursuing him.
The individual recording the clip reacted, saying, “Oh my God. He is cooked.” Police eventually arrested the 15-year-old and cited him for disorderly conduct.
Neighbors React
Several neighbors reacted to the sudden meetup. While talking to WISN, they described a chaotic scene.
“It just looked like complete chaos. Like it was just so many kids here. It doesn’t look like it was any supervision,” one neighbor said, choosing to remain anonymous. “And really, probably the only time it got really sorted out was when the police came.”
Jamere Blue said that those present at the meetup had guns and tasers, saying that the “kids” were “on a whole other level.” Another neighbor, Jack, stated that the teens acted “as if they are thinking themselves on a movie set.”
Second Incident, Days Apart
Reportedly, this was the second incident at the very same park during the very same week. Just days before, on Wednesday, May 27, Milwaukee police responded to the area after receiving reports of shots fired. No victims were located by officers.
Still, neighbors are worried that such meetups could lead to a tragedy. Jack said that frequent fights and car swirling could “end up with a dead child.
Another neighbor added: “It’s a park. Nobody wants to think about, my kid might get hurt here. We want our kids to go to the park to have fun and have good experiences. Not to create a trauma experience.”
