A car crashed into several parked vehicles at a used auto sales lot in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood early Monday morning before catching fire, according to WPXI. By the time WPXI’s news crews arrived, the flames had already been put out. Firefighters were still working on the smoke.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene around 5 am on Monday. The situation took place at Seran Auto Sales on Saw Mill Run Boulevard, not far from a lot that’s near one of Pittsburgh’s major commuter areas. The unsuspecting neighboring businesses were caught unaware by the accident.

Multiple vehicles on the lot were involved in the crash. It’s not clear, however, how many vehicles in total were involved with the clash. The car that began the chain of events didn’t stay in one piece, either. In fact, it caught fire after the crash and went up in a fiery blaze.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the crash, according to WPXI. The cause of the crash, the identity of the driver and whether any criminal charges may be filed have not been publicly described by Pittsburgh authorities. The aftermath, including damage to vehicles at Seran Auto Sales, was visible in raw video WPXI posted from the scene.

What Police and Fire Crews Found

According to WPXI, Pittsburgh emergency crews were dispatched at about 4:52 a.m. on Monday, June 1, to the 1800 block of Saw Mill Run Boulevard in the city’s Carrick neighborhood after a vehicle crashed into several parked cars at Seran Auto Sales. After the car caught on fire, firefighters rushed to the scene and were able to quickly put out the blaze.

WPXI reported that no injuries had been tied to the crash. Beyond that, Pittsburgh authorities have not come forward with the reason or the cause of the crash, the identity of the driver, the number of vehicles damaged on the lot or whether any criminal charges might be filed. With the type of crime it is, we expect that it likely will receive a follow-up in the near future.
