Philadelphia police have issued urgent warnings after a violent spree that left two tow truck drivers dead and a third person wounded and have identified the suspect as 27-year-old Najee Williams, a local towing business owner now wanted on multiple serious charges.
Authorities describe Williams as “armed and dangerous” and have appealed to members of the public to come forward with information that could lead to his capture.
The deadly incidents unfolded across Northeast Philadelphia in separate shootings that police believe are connected by an ongoing dispute within the city’s tightly contested towing industry. Officials are investigating possible territorial or business motivations behind the violence but have not confirmed a definitive motive.
Deadly December Shooting Leaves Young Driver Critical
The first shooting occurred on December 22, 2025, on the 4200 block of Torresdale Avenue in the East Frankford section of the city. Police responding to shots fired found 20-year-old David Garcia-Morales inside his Ford F-450 tow truck.

He had suffered gunshot wounds to his neck and thigh and was rushed to Temple University Hospital in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries four days later on December 26.
Authorities later released images of a navy-blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, believed to be involved in the shooting, that was last spotted fleeing the scene. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage that appears to show a dark-colored SUV pulling alongside Garcia-Morales’ truck before opening fire.
Friends and family remember Garcia-Morales as a friendly, social young man with a bright personality who cared deeply about others. His mother said in recent interviews that his organs helped save lives after his death.
New Year’s Killing and Another Victim Injured

The second fatal incident occurred on January 11, 2026, on the 2100 block of Knorr Street in the Oxford Circle neighborhood. Police were called to the scene late Sunday night and found 25-year-old Aaron Whitfield inside his tow truck with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body.
A 21-year-old woman found at the same location had been shot in the leg and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Whitfield was pronounced dead at the scene.
Video evidence reviewed by investigators reportedly shows a silver sedan slowing alongside Whitfield’s truck before gunfire erupts. Officials recovered that sedan, a gray vehicle, and are processing it for evidence.
Suspect Now Wanted on Multiple Severe Charges

Philadelphia Police have confirmed that Najee Williams was at both crime scenes and committed both shootings, according to statements from the Homicide Unit. Williams is the owner of NKW Towing & Recovery LLC, a local towing business.
Police have charged him with murder, weapons violations, conspiracy, possessing criminal instruments, and recklessly endangering others.
A public bulletin from the Philadelphia Police Department labels Williams as armed and extremely dangerous, and law enforcement is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction. Authorities are warning residents and industry workers not to approach him if sighted but to call police immediately.
What’s Going On?
These killings have sent shockwaves through the local towing community, a sector already known for intense competition over calls and territory.
Police are also reviewing a third homicide from November 2025 involving another tow operator to determine whether it is connected to the same dispute network.
Family members of both victims have spoken publicly about their grief and anger. Whitfield’s parents set up a GoFundMe to honor his memory, and friends of Garcia-Morales have highlighted his generosity and impact on those around him.
Law enforcement officials have increased patrols in affected neighborhoods and are continuing to interview witnesses and review surveillance footage. Investigators emphasize that the pattern of attacks suggests more than random violence and indicate they are exploring all possible links between the shootings, including business rivalries.
