Who We Are
Theresa Bedford — Founder
I’ll never forget how it started. Five of us, crammed onto my parents’ front porch at midnight, running on nothing but Mountain Dew and an obsession with cars. We’d sit there for hours in the dark, turning every passing set of headlights into a challenge. “Mustang GT!” someone would shout. “No way, those are too round. That’s definitely a Camaro,” another would argue.
The debates got heated, but man, were they fun. It became our thing. Every weekend, rain or shine, we’d sit out on that porch. My mom thought we were crazy, but she’d still bring us snacks and sometimes join in (she was surprisingly good at spotting Volkswagens). We got so good that we could tell a Honda Accord from a Toyota Camry from three blocks away, just by the way their lights cut through the night.
Our proudest moment? Correctly identifying a Corvette C4 at 1 AM — its pop-up headlights reveal the unmistakable silhouette of America’s sports car.
That’s what Guessing Headlights is about. Not just cars, but the stories we make while loving them. The ridiculous debates about whether those distant lights belong to a WRX or an Evo. The triumph of spotting a rare JDM import before anyone else. The friendships forged over endless nights of car-spotting and bench racing. This site is for everyone who understands that cars are more than transportation — they’re conversation starters, memory makers, and sometimes, if you’re lucky like we were, the foundation of lifelong friendships.
Andre Nalin — Editor-in-Chief
Andre has worked as a writer and editor for multiple car and motorcycle publications over the last decade, but he has reverted to freelancing these days. He has accumulated a ton of seat time during his ridiculous road trips in highly unsuitable vehicles, and he’s built magazine-featured cars. He prefers it when his bikes and cars are fast and loud, but if he had to pick one, he’d go with loud.
Marnus Moolman — Staff Writer
Since 2021, Marnus Moolman expressed his love for everything automotive through means of writing about cars. From identifying future automotive trends to telling stories about cars you’ve never heard of, his knowledge spreads far and wide with love for often overlooked details. Apart from creating automotive content, Marnus is working on obtaining his Bachelor of Accounting degree to pursue his lifelong dream of running his own automotive conglomerate.
Marko Sokolovski — Staff Writer
Marko is a dedicated car enthusiast with over six years of professional experience writing and producing content about cars and video games that involve cars. He loves all that’s quirky and weird in the car world, and he finds it difficult to resist automotive underdogs. Marko also reviews cars and does automotive and racing video game content on YouTube. He daily drives a VW up! and also owns a Lexus IS220d.
