An 18-year-old got a birthday gift most car fans can only dream about. His dad offered him his pick of nearly 18 cars, including a Bentley, a BMW, and a V8 Camaro. All he had to do was choose which one he wanted to drive home.

YouTuber [Auto Auction Rebuilds](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZkZc062SN8) shared the gift in a June 11, 2026, video. His son, Nick, had just turned 18 and graduated from high school. He was also getting ready for college, but he needed another car after a deer wrecked his Dodge Charger R/T.

Insurance had paid for the totaled Charger, but his dad wanted to give him something special. Some of the cars on the lot were worth far more than the insurance check. Nick could choose from the cars his father made available, no matter which one cost more.

With so many options, Nick had a hard choice ahead of him. He liked muscle cars, but a luxury sedan and a powerful pickup also caught his eye. After looking around the lot, he narrowed the field to five cars for a series of test drives.

Quite A Selection

Nick’s final five were a 2001 Bentley Arnage Red Label, a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T, a 2015 BMW 428i, a Chevrolet Camaro SS, and a 2010 Ford F-150 Raptor.

The Bentley sounded like a dream gift until Nick drove it. He liked the luxury car but wasn’t comfortable with how its brakes felt. The Bentley also had a check engine light, which didn’t help his concerns about repair costs.

Next came the Charger, which felt much closer to his old car. Its Hemi V8 made plenty of power, and Nick liked how it drove. The car had 166,000 miles, a few worn interior parts, and some minor issues, but it quickly became his favorite.

The BMW was quieter and had more modern features. Even so, Nick preferred the older Dodge. He also worried about what it might cost to fix the BMW if something went wrong.

A Costly Catch

Then came the Camaro SS. Nick loved its looks and the power of its 6.2-liter V8. During the test drive, he found it even more fun than the Charger.

Unfortunately, the Camaro had some serious problems. Its rear end was damaged in a crash, and the trunk wouldn’t close properly. When his dad checked inside, he found bent metal and water in the trunk.

Another problem was the air conditioning. A broken blend door let heated air into the cabin, and fixing it would take a lot of work.

Nick wanted the Camaro, but his dad warned him that it wasn’t ready for daily use. Nick also crossed off the Raptor after driving it. He didn’t care for its size or poor gas mileage.

One More Offer

After driving all five cars, Nick picked the 2006 Dodge Charger R/T. It reminded him of the Charger he lost, and he knew he could enjoy it without taking on the Camaro’s repair problems.

His dad wasn’t finished, though. He offered to let Nick drive the Charger while he fixed the Camaro. If he could repair the trunk and air conditioning to his own satisfaction, Nick could change his mind and take the Camaro instead.

The pair shook hands on the deal. For now, the Charger would stay in the dealership’s name while Nick drove it. His dad said they could return to the decision in another video once they knew whether the Camaro could be fixed.
