An older clip is drawing fresh attention on Reddit, where a driver’s slow trip toward a blocked crash scene has people wondering what the plan could possibly have been. The r/dashcams repost had drawn about 2,000 upvotes, with commenters supplying plenty of imagined excuses for the driver.
Police vehicles block the highway, with emergency lights flashing and sirens sounding. Even with all of that ahead, one vehicle starts moving past police toward the scene.
Where, exactly, was this driver planning to go? I cannot make sense of that choice, and the slow pace makes it all the more puzzling.
The Reddit title describes the closure as a fatal crash scene. A thread dated July 31, 2021, carries the same title, so the footage’s return to people’s feeds should not be confused with a newly recorded event.
No Way Through
Police blocked off the road for a fatal crash scene. Someone tried to drive through it anyway

As the vehicle continues slowly forward, one police vehicle moves toward it. The driver steers as though trying to get around the approaching police vehicle and keep going toward the scene.
The police vehicle then strikes the other vehicle, stopping its advance before it can get closer. That contact abruptly ended a maneuver that had been unfolding at a crawl.
The Imagined Excuses
Reddit commenters supplied their own versions of what the driver might have said. Those lines are viewer jokes, not verified dialogue from the person behind the wheel.
“I’m just trying to get through,” one commenter wrote, adding, “You and everyone else.” Another offered, “I just wanna go home,” prompting replies about other videos in which drivers kept going because they wanted to reach their destination.
The original post’s caption took the same approach, imagining the driver throwing their hands up and asking, “WHAT DID I DO?!” Elsewhere in the thread, another commenter condensed the imagined complaint to: “YOU HIT MUH CAH!”
