A team of divers and vehicle recovery specialists has pulled two exotic cars from a river in the United States, uncovering a stolen Chevrolet Corvette C7 linked to a police investigation dating back to 2020.

The unusual discovery was documented in a YouTube video produced by Jiggin’ With Jordan, showing the team using sonar equipment, specialist diving techniques, and a heavy-duty recovery truck to retrieve the vehicles from beneath the water.

This fascinating recovery operation began after the team received information about several vehicles believed to have been abandoned in a river. The cars’ history remained a mystery, with the team considering several possibilities, including accidents and theft. The group hoped that recovering the vehicles would help establish what had happened.

Using live sonar technology, the team identified multiple objects on the riverbed before confirming that they were cars. The recovery specialists were particularly excited about the prospect of retrieving a Corvette, which proved to be one of the operation’s most remarkable discoveries.

A Corvette Emerges From the Mud

Divers entered the water to locate the Corvette and attach recovery equipment to its wheels. The team then used a heavy-duty tow truck, nicknamed Big Red, to slowly lift the vehicle from the river.

As the car emerged, its distinctive two-tone black-and-blue paintwork became visible beneath layers of mud and silt. Despite spending years submerged, the Corvette remained recognizable, though its condition had clearly deteriorated. The team also discovered a GoPro mount attached to the vehicle, prompting speculation about its previous use.

Once the car was on land, the team washed away the accumulated dirt to reveal more of its exterior. What wasn’t on their bingo cards was an eel that emerged from inside the vehicle.

Police Confirm the Corvette Was Stolen

The discovery took a significant turn when the team contacted a police officer familiar with the vehicle’s history.

According to the video, the officer confirmed that the Corvette had been part of a theft investigation assigned to her in 2020. The recovery team had therefore helped uncover a vehicle connected to a case that had remained unresolved for years.

Further online research revealed a social media connection associated with the car: an account linked to its apparent owner had previously posted a photograph of the vehicle.

The discovery provided an important link between the recovered Corvette and its reported theft.

A Second Car Raises More Questions

The team also recovered a Mercedes from the river during the same operation.

Although the vehicle was successfully brought to the surface, its past remained unclear. Initial checks by authorities didn’t confirm that it had been stolen, and further investigation was needed to establish its background.

The contrasting outcomes left the team with one confirmed stolen vehicle and another discovery that required additional inquiries.

The biggest lead arrived in the video’s comment section, with one user stating: “That Mercedes is from the 1920-30’s. Online there’s some Mercedes from that era going anywhere from $20k to over a million. So there’s a chance that Mercedes is actually the better find.”

What Happens Next?

The recovery demonstrated how specialist equipment and coordinated efforts can help locate vehicles that have remained hidden underwater for years.

While the Corvette’s recovery helped police revisit an older theft case, the circumstances that led both vehicles into the river remain uncertain.

For the recovery team, the operation delivered two extraordinary finds. For investigators, it offered a fresh lead in a case that had been open since 2020, while the Mercedes’ story so far remains unfinished.
