A Florida traffic stop took an unusual turn when a police officer approached a pickup truck with a problem that appeared difficult to dispute: both front tires were gone.
The driver disagreed. Body-camera footage from the Sarasota Police Department shows her sitting behind the wheel of the red pickup and repeatedly insisting nothing was wrong with the tires while the truck rested on its exposed front rims.
The stop dates to April 2023, but the footage has continued circulating long after the encounter. A January 2026 upload of the bodycam footage has drawn tens of thousands of views, adding another round of attention to an encounter that had already spread widely online.
The missing rubber was only the beginning. Once the officer asked the driver to get out of the truck, an argument over what was plainly underneath it turned into a much louder confrontation.
Bare Minimum

The officer begins by asking the driver what happened to her wheels.
“There’s nothing wrong with my tires,” she responds.
The camera gives the exchange an unusual visual punch line. The front of the pickup is sitting on metal rims with no conventional tires visible around them.
When the officer points that out, the driver continues disputing him and gestures toward one of the wheels.
“Obviously, there’s a tire,” she says.
The officer answers that there is a rim, but no tire around it.
Rather than trying to explain when or how the tires disappeared, the driver continues insisting the wheels are fine. The officer soon shifts his attention from the truck’s condition to the driver’s condition.
Out Of The Cab
He orders her to step out.
She refuses.
The exchange continues until the driver tells him, “Make me.”
Officers then open the truck and physically remove her. The relatively strange but quiet argument about the wheels abruptly becomes a struggle accompanied by repeated screaming as they try to restrain her.
The bodycam shows officers working to control her arms and get her handcuffed. She continues resisting as they move her toward a police vehicle, at one point warning that she will bite.
An officer also accuses her of scratching him during the struggle.
What began as a vehicle stop had by then become an arrest, but the most unusual evidence remained parked where the encounter started: a pickup with two exposed front rims and a driver who had spent the opening minutes insisting its tires were still there.
Still Circulating
The footage did not disappear with the 2023 arrest.
Bodycam-focused channels subsequently republished the encounter, giving viewers who had never seen the original incident another look at it. The January 2026 upload alone had accumulated more than 38,000 views by September.
An even earlier upload, published in December 2023, has surpassed 1.3 million views.
Those later uploads should not be confused with original Sarasota Police Department releases. The channels publishing them describe themselves as independent media operations using law-enforcement footage, rather than official police accounts.
That distinction also leaves some of the biography attached to the video online on shakier ground. One uploader described the driver as a teacher based on what it said was a LinkedIn profile. Guessing Headlights could not independently establish that employment detail from the police footage or an authoritative public record, so it is not included here.
What the camera does establish needs considerably less interpretation. When the officer approached the pickup, its two front tires were gone. The driver looked at the exposed wheels and insisted otherwise.
