Getting your hands on Chevrolet’s most extreme Corvette apparently requires either patience or a willingness to write a very large check. In this particular case, someone clearly chose the latter option.
A brand-new 2027 Corvette ZR1X has sold on Bring a Trailer for $402,000. Finished in Sebring Orange, loaded with options, and showing just eight miles on the odometer, this wasn’t exactly your everyday base-spec example.
Its window sticker lists a total vehicle price of $290,289 after options, meaning the winning bid came in $111,711 above sticker. That’s nearly enough of a premium to buy another well-equipped Corvette.
The auction ended September 11 after 21 bids, with the selling Chevrolet dealer offering the car on its Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin. That means its $402,000 buyer becomes the first private owner.
This ZR1X Was Loaded With Options
The car is a 3LZ coupe equipped with the ZTK Performance Track Package. Its options include the $13,000 Carbon Fiber Aero Package, which brings an imposing rear wing, dive planes, and additional aerodynamic hardware.
There’s also a $15,000 set of staggered 20- and 21-inch carbon-fiber wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires. Carbon-ceramic brakes feature orange Alcon calipers with 10 pistons up front and six at the rear.
Inside, the ZR1X gets Ultimate Suede Jet Black upholstery, heated and ventilated GT2 seats, carbon-fiber trim, and a heated carbon-fiber and microsuede steering wheel. A head-up display, performance data recorder, and multiple digital screens round out the cabin.
The Buyer Is Getting 1,250 HP
At least the buyer received some extraordinary performance for that $402,000. The ZR1X combines a 1,064-hp twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter LT7 V8 driving the rear wheels with an electric motor powering the front axle, giving the Corvette electrified all-wheel drive.
Combined output is 1,250 horsepower, and Chevrolet says the ZR1X can hit 60 mph in as little as 1.89 seconds in its currently advertised configuration.
An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission handles the V8’s output, while a 1.9-kWh battery supplies the front electric drive unit. The result is the most powerful production Corvette Chevrolet has ever built.
The Premium Was $111,711
The $402,000 winning bid represents a roughly 38.5% premium over this car’s $290,289 sticker price, and that’s before considering any applicable auction fees, taxes, or registration costs.
The buyer also can’t immediately turn around and flip it. According to the listing, GM requires the vehicle to remain with its buyer for at least 12 months, otherwise, warranty coverage will be void for subsequent owners.
Eight miles, 1,250 horsepower, and nearly $112,000 over sticker suggest early ZR1X demand is anything but sleepy, and someone clearly decided waiting wasn’t worth it.
