Everyone loves a good kitten rescue, and the adorable Suki was no exception to this rule.
In a video posted on Instagram by the Bay Area Firefighter, firefighters are seen working to free the kitten, which got stuck in a cabinet.
After workers from the Ventura County Fire Department removed the cabinet’s A/V equipment and lowered it, Suki was able to be freed.
As they worked, the officials gave the meowing kitten pets and reassurance.
“Suki had only been with her new family a few weeks when she crawled partway into an opening in the cabinet and couldn’t back out,” the Bay Area Firefighter wrote in the caption. “Suki showed no signs of injury and was returned to her relieved family.”
Since Suki’s owner originally posted the kitten rescue on TikTok last week, it has swiftly made the rounds across social media.
As of Sep. 18, the TikTok video posted by owner Erin Garcia has attracted more than five million views.

Update on Suki
In the comment section, users shared their experiences of firefighters saving their pets and demanded updates on Suki.
“My dad, who is a retired firefighter, says that these calls were his favorite because you get to help your community without being in danger. It’s a nice change of pace,” one commenter said.
“This exact same thing happened to us with our kitten, and they successfully got her out, thank God,” another commenter added.
In a follow-up video posted that day, the freed kitten is seen lying in bed with her feline sibling, just waking up from a much-needed nap.

El Paso Rescue
Over the past few weeks, there have been a few high-profile kitten rescues.
Only two weeks ago on Sep. 6, El Paso Animal Services saved a tiny kitten who fell down a 20-foot utility pipe. Luckily, the animal had no injuries or health issues.
The Texan who found the kitten and called for help took the animal home — giving him a safe, loving home.

Additionally, last month, the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service saved a 15-week-old kitten who fell between two buildings.
Following the “purr-fect” rescue, the animal was safely returned to its owner.
