Few manufacturers have a relationship with the Nürburgring quite like BMW. The infamous Nordschleife has spent decades serving as a proving ground for the company’s performance cars, making the circuit’s upcoming 100th anniversary an obvious occasion for something special.

BMW M is celebrating with the 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition, a collection spanning six of its performance cars. BMW Motorrad is joining the party with three motorcycles, creating a nine-model anniversary family dedicated to the Green Hell.

Every model receives a newly developed Nürburgring Green finish alongside graphics and details referencing the circuit. Buyers wanting something subtler can also order the cars in Sapphire Black metallic with green accents.

BMW M CEO Franciscus van Meel describes the Nürburgring as the brand’s “second home,” noting that BMW M production vehicles are tested on the Nordschleife. Considering the circuit stretches 20.8 kilometers through 73 corners and dramatic elevation changes, it’s easy to understand why.

Six BMW M Cars Get The Treatment

The automotive lineup consists of the M2, M3 Sedan, M3 Touring, M4 Coupé, M5 Sedan and M5 Touring. The mechanical foundations will be familiar, with the anniversary treatment primarily focused on exclusive styling and interior details.

Common touches include Nürburgring graphics, the circuit’s official 100 Years anniversary logo, “Nürburgring since 1927” lettering, and the track’s unmistakable silhouette. Most models also receive edition-specific roof stripes and wheels incorporating Nürburgring Green accents.

Inside, black leather is contrasted with green and white stitching. The M2, M3, and M4 receive Alcantara steering wheels with matching stitching and white 12-o’clock markers, while the M5 models use similarly styled leather steering wheels.

The headrests feature embroidered Nürburgring silhouettes, with green embroidery used in the six-cylinder cars and black for the M5. Special door sills and anniversary badging complete the treatment.

BMW Motorrad Joins The Celebration

BMW Motorrad’s contribution includes special versions of the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and M 1000 XR. Each motorcycle will be limited to just 100 examples worldwide, giving them considerably greater exclusivity.

According to BMW Motorrad, all three receive the exclusive Nürburgring Green color scheme, Nordschleife graphics, and a Certificate of Authenticity. Carbon wheels with green graphics, an Alcantara-look seat with “100” embroidery, and the M Track package are also included.

BMW says the relationship between its motorcycle division and the Nürburgring stretches back to 1927, when the brand recorded its first victory there.

A Century Of The Nürburgring Nordschleife

The Nürburgring opened in 1927 and quickly established itself as one of motorsport’s most demanding venues. BMW continues using the Nordschleife to develop and validate areas including chassis tuning, powertrains, aerodynamics, brakes, and thermal management.

The M3 Sedan, M3 Touring, M4 Coupé, M5 Sedan, and M5 Touring anniversary editions are available to order from September 2026. The M2 version follows in January 2027.

BMW Motorrad says its three anniversary motorcycles will each be limited to 100 units worldwide, with availability varying by market. It’s a fitting celebration of a circuit that has spent a century testing drivers, riders, and machines to their limits.
