Deputies in Alabama found themselves dealing with a very different kind of suspect after a 1,500-pound bull got loose near Pickens Academy. Instead of a routine traffic stop, law enforcement suddenly had a full-blown livestock pursuit on its hands.
The unusual call happened on August 7, when deputies with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama joined officers from the Carrollton Police Department to track down the wandering bull. The animal had apparently decided to take a sightseeing trip through the area.
According to the sheriff’s office, the bull was not particularly interested in cooperating. Officials joked that the animal was essentially playing a game of “I ain’t complying with anything you ask” as deputies tried to get it under control.
Things escalated into a brief foot pursuit that sent both the bull and officers across Highway 17 and then back again. Despite a few slips and falls along the way, the animal was eventually rounded up safely without anyone getting hurt.
