Considering the day and age we are in, I always assume there’s a camera trained on me, even if there really isn’t reason to. This is doubly so when you’re driving on the road.

One Tesla driver was filmed in traffic being filmed by a police officer as he was distracted by something.

The cop quite literally took the camera off his chest and pointed it directly at the driver, presumably until the driver realized or until the cop pulled them over.

What’s really interesting is the fact that the driver just kept on going, even as the cop was riding behind him with his emergency lights flashing. I can only imagine how hefty that ticket ended up looking.

The video above is from the point of view of a driver on what looks to be a busy intersection. All the cars are stopped at the red light, including a Tesla that has a body cam trained directly at the driver.

It’s unclear exactly what the driver is doing, but according to the text written on the clip, “Tesla driver on his phone. Cop took off his body cam to record him.”

Eventually, the cop stops recording and turns on his motorcycle’s emergency lights to pull the Tesla driver over.

The driver must really not have been paying attention because, for the duration of the video, the driver still hadn’t pulled over.

Commenters Couldn’t Ignore the Irony of the Viral Clip

Commenters couldn’t help but notice the irony, with one person writing, “You recording this on your phone too is wild 🤣.”

Similarly, another person wrote, “All that technology in that car and still on the phone.”

Whatever was on that driver’s phone clearly had their full attention, but it wasn’t enough to notice a police motorcycle with its lights flashing right behind them. If nothing else, the viral clip is a pretty good reminder that the road deserves more attention than any notification ever will.
