An Unlikely Set of Footprints Was Found on a Freshly Paved Road. The Culprit? Think Snout and Hooves

A loose pig in China Spring, Texas, picked a bad moment to visit someone’s property. According to a Facebook Reel from Brandy Wilson, the animal wandered onto the road while it was being resurfaced. Unfortunately, it didn’t just inspect the freshly laid roadwork from a safe distance.

The video shows the pig walking through the grass near the edge of the road as the resurfacing work is underway. A truck can be seen nearby, and the road is already coated in fresh black material. Naturally, the pig heads right for the one place it really didn’t need to be.

Once the pig reached the road, it immediately dove into the asphalt and started rolling around like it’s a mudhole. Unfortunately, it quickly became coated in the sticky material. By the time it got back up, the pig’s light-colored coat had turned mostly black.

Wilson’s caption said the pig showed up at the worst possible time, and the video makes it hard to argue with that. The pig eventually walks back into the grass, looking much darker than it did a few moments earlier. KCEN later reported that the animal was doing fine after a long cleanup.

How the Pig Found the Fresh Road Surface

The pig didn’t have to go far to get into trouble. In the video, the animal is already close to the road while the resurfacing crew is working nearby. The fresh surface is only a few steps away from the grass, which gave the pig just enough room to make a poor decision.

As can be expected, the pig wasn’t especially concerned about proper road maintenance. The asphalt was apparently exactly what it was looking for, and it dove in with gusto. Fortunately, it wasn’t too hot, and the pig seemed to enjoy it thoroughly.

What Happened After the Pig Rolled in Tar

The fun part of the video ended with someone else having a much less fun job. KCEN reported that the owner spent about four hours cleaning the tar from the pig. Most of it came off, and the pig was later reported to be doing well.

It’s still not clear how the pig got loose. The posts also didn’t provide any updates on whether the roadwork would need to be redone afterward. Regardless, the owner ended up with a story that started as a random animal visit and turned into a very long bath.
