A video of an incident from August of 2025 in which an officer pulled his weapon on an innocent bystander has resurfaced on Reddit recently, garnering hundreds of comments. The video was originally taken on August 7, 2025, from the perspective of the police officer involved’s body camera.
You can see the officer begin to approach a gas station in Florida with his handgun raised in the air. It isn’t clear exactly who he is speaking to, though it becomes clearer as he gets closer that he is referring to a bald man wearing a gray tank top with various tattoos on his arms.
According to the officer, this reaction was warranted because he thought that the gas pump nozzle was a handgun. The officer alleges that the man was holding it up like a weapon and aiming it at the station’s convenience store.
However, the man stated that he was only trying to tell the attendant inside the store that the pump hadn’t been activated after he paid. In fact, when officers went inside the store to corroborate this story, the attendant explained that the man was a frequent customer of his, coming just about every day after work.

The incident happened in Leon County at a Circle K gas station that didn’t have very many customers at the time. The officer can clearly be heard asking the man pumping gas, “What are you doing?” To which the man replied with. “I’m filling up gas cans.”
What was really interesting was how cooperative the man was, despite being obviously profiled. After seeing the officer and the handgun pointed at him, he immediately put his hands up and dropped the item he was holding.
He then put his hands behind his back and handed over his driver’s license on request. All while this was happening, there was someone in the car that the man was driving, who was asked to stay inside the vehicle.
Officers Had No Reason To Do This
Shortly after realizing what happened, the man began to be rightfully upset, even saying, “I ain’t got nothing to say to you, bro. I ain’t did [expletive] and I ain’t being detained. I want to go home and have nothing to say to you. You know what you did.”
The officer did try to justify his own point of view by saying that the nozzle did, in fact, look like a weapon from the street. However, the man being questioned quickly made note of the thick black hose that was attached to the pump.
After the officer said that he hadn’t seen the hose, the man quickly shot back with, “Yeah, you saw what you wanted to see.”
Reactions To Resurfaced Body Camera Video
Despite the incident having happened on August 7 of 2025, the video has become viral again on Reddit, and commenters still shared their opinions and frustrations in the comments section below. Many comments condemned the officers involved and the behaviors they displayed during the incident.
The very top comment reads, “Honestly the worst part is the subtle part at the end where hes asking the cashier if he ever causes problems. Like NO MOTHER[EXPLETIVE], you the problem.” Similarly, another comment read, “What a dumb mother[expletive]. And trying to convince everyone of what he saw? Just wow!”
In a statement released by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office at the time, they said: “While no one was injured during the incident, LCSO would like to assure the public that we review any incidents of concern to evaluate opportunities for training or additional action.”

The fact this occurred almost a year ago makes me hope the officer was removed from the job. He is a danger to the public and should not have access to firearms. Seeing as how he tried to get the cashier to say negative comments about the man exhibits his desperation to validate his stupidity.
