A terrifying incident happened to a woman at full-term pregnancy in Port St. Lucie, Florida, after having a loaded handgun pointed at her. What’s worse is that this only happened as a result of road rage from the other person.
The man with the gun was identified as 78-year-old Robert Kniceley, while the woman’s name has not yet been released. According to the report made on Facebook by the Port St. Lucie Police Department, Kniceley believed that the woman cut him off in traffic.
Instead of simply honking or ignoring the situation, Kniceley decided to be aggressive once they were both next to each other at a stoplight. He then flashed and pointed the handgun at the woman before driving away.
Fortunately, she called the police, who arrived on the scene and were able to get video evidence from the victim that included identifying information. After that, he was successfully apprehended.
Elderly Man Points Gun at Pregnant Woman
The incident happened on June 9 at 2:42 pm after PSLPD officers responded to an aggravated assault call by the female driver. She explained that when Kinceley drove up next to her at the red light, she rolled her window down because he had indicated that he wanted to speak with her.
Before the incident, she said that he had been aggressively driving a yellow Chevrolet pickup truck. She said that she feared for her safety, resulting in the police call and subsequent turning in of evidence.
Using this information, police were able to find out exactly who owned the truck, and were able to find Robert Kinceley at his home. He cooperated with the police and took responsibility for what happened before being arrested.
What Are the Charges?
Once everything was said and done, Kniceley was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. If convicted of this charge, then he could face up to five years in prison, five years of probation, and a fine of up to $5,000.
The weapon in question was also found, a loaded Smith * Wesson .22 caliber handgun. The incident serves as a reminder to everyone that situations such as these will not go unaddressed.
