Volkswagen is giving UK drivers two new ways to go hybrid without giving up the utility they count on. The Multivan eHybrid 4MOTION and Caddy Cargo eHybrid just joined the lineup, blending familiar VW versatility with plug-in power for lower emissions and more fuel-efficient trips.
Whether you’re running a business or packing up for a family getaway, these new vans are built to do it all, with just the right amount of electric boost.
The Multivan eHybrid 4MOTION is Ready for Anything
This isn’t your average people mover. The Multivan eHybrid 4MOTION combines a 245PS plug-in hybrid system with all-wheel drive, thanks to a clever pairing of a 1.5L turbocharged engine at the front and an electric motor at the rear.
With a larger 19.7 kWh battery, it can travel up to 57.2 miles (WLTP) on pure electric power—perfect for emissions-free city driving or weekend getaways. It also seats up to seven comfortably, offers plenty of clever storage, and comes in two lengths depending on how much space you need.
There are two trim levels to choose from: Life and Style. Even the entry model is well-equipped, but the Style trim ups the ante with 30-color ambient lighting, voice control with Alexa, and IQ.LIGHT matrix LED headlamps that can light up the road like a sci-fi movie set.
The Caddy Cargo eHybrid Brings Big Energy to Small Vans
If your job needs something more compact, but still mighty, the Caddy Cargo eHybrid could be the perfect fit. This is the first time the panel van gets VW’s plug-in hybrid treatment, and it brings 150PS of power and up to 740kg of payload capacity to the table.
It offers the same smart features that small business owners love — great cargo space (up to 3.7m³), up to 2,150mm of load length, and efficient plug-in capability to reduce emissions and fuel costs.
There are three trims: Commerce, Commerce Plus, and Commerce Pro. As you climb the ladder, you get more comforts like heated seats, wireless App-Connect, Discover Media navigation, and even a heated windscreen—a lifesaver on early winter mornings.
Built for Real Life, Not Just the Brochure
These new vans aren’t just a tech flex. They’re a real step forward for tradespeople, delivery drivers, and families who need practical, low-emission transport that doesn’t compromise on space or performance.
By giving customers a choice between a full-size passenger van and a compact cargo workhorse, VW is making electrified mobility more accessible, whether you’re hauling gear across town or heading out on a road trip with the whole crew.
