Tiger Woods’ Second DUI Arrest Caught on Bodycam: Drowsy, Sweaty, and Somehow Still Funnier Than Most of Us

Tiger Woods has won 15 major championships, survived a near-fatal car crash, and somehow come back to compete on the PGA Tour against men half his age. He has done things on a golf course that defy physics, logic, and occasionally the laws of television ratings. But last Friday night in Martin County, Florida, the legend added a far less glamorous chapter to his story: his second DUI arrest in less than a decade, captured in full on bodycam footage now obtained by Fox News Digital.

The footage shows Woods appearing drowsy, visibly sweaty, and looking like a man who desperately needed a nap, a glass of water, and maybe a different Friday night entirely. His 2025 Range Rover had ended up on its driver’s side after colliding with another vehicle, which is, by any measure, a rough way to end the week. It took assistance to get out through the passenger side door, and roughly two hours later, he was in the back of a police cruiser.

Here is the part where the story takes a turn that only Tiger Woods could deliver. Sitting in the back of that cop car, groggy and still processing the evening’s events, he muttered three words to nobody in particular: “This is fun.” Sarcastic? Sure. Accurate? Debatable. Genuinely the most Tiger Woods sentence ever spoken by Tiger Woods? Absolutely.

What Actually Happened That Night

Woods failed a field sobriety test after officers noted signs of impairment and described him as lethargic. A breathalyzer, interestingly, came back clean with triple zeros, meaning alcohol was not the issue. However, he reportedly failed to submit a urine test, which added another charge. Officers also found two pills later identified as hydrocodone, a prescription opioid commonly used for pain management.

Before the sobriety tests, Woods told law enforcement he had undergone seven back surgeries and more than 20 operations on his leg, a staggering number that puts a lot of things into uncomfortable perspective. He also mentioned he takes several prescription medications. In 2021, a serious car accident left him with major leg injuries severe enough to keep him off Tour for an entire year. The man has essentially been rebuilding himself piece by piece for years, which makes the prescription medication piece far less surprising and far more sobering than the DUI headline alone might suggest.

This is not his first encounter with law enforcement in a vehicle-related situation. He was arrested on a DUI charge in 2017 as well, though that case also involved prescription medications rather than alcohol.

Where Things Stand Now, Including the Masters

President Donald Trump, who knows Woods personally through family connections (Woods dates Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr. and mother of his granddaughter Kai), weighed in publicly this week. Trump called Woods “an amazing guy” and “an amazing athlete” and emphasized repeatedly that Woods “lives a life of pain.” It was, by all accounts, a genuinely sympathetic statement, and probably the least complicated part of this entire story.

As for the Masters, which Woods had expressed hope of playing in, that is now off the table. In a statement posted to social media, Woods said he is stepping away to seek treatment and focus on his health. He described understanding “the seriousness of the situation” and committed to returning in a healthier and stronger place when the time is right.

It is a hard thing to watch for anyone who grew up watching Woods redefine what golf could look like. At his best, he was untouchable. Right now, he is very clearly a person dealing with a lot, carrying years of physical pain and the weight of a comeback that was always going to be more complicated than a scorecard could capture. The bodycam footage is uncomfortable to watch, but the bigger picture is someone who needs help and, by his own words, is finally asking for it. That part, at least, is not a punchline.
