The surprising moment was captured on video by Wesh 2 News and quickly caught drivers’ attention online. At first glance, it looks like the Road Ranger intentionally rammed the disabled trailer. In fact, he did.
According to Florida’s Road Ranger program, the goal is to clear hazards from busy highways as quickly and safely as possible. Every minute a blocked lane sits full of stopped traffic increases the risk of secondary crashes and miles-long backups.
That sometimes means using specialized vehicles to move disabled cars, trucks, or trailers out of travel lanes so tow operators can finish the job and traffic can resume safely.
